Davidson Earns All-State Honors In 3A 3200 Meter Run

Monday, June 6 2016 - IHSA 3A Boys State Track & Field Championship

Senior Brett Davidson competed in the 3A 3200 Meter Run at the 2016 IHSA State Track & Field Meet on the blue track at Eastern Illinois University.   As always, Davidson battled throughout the race.   It was a very tactical race with athletes bunching up and then spreading out as the pace changed each lap with a slower lap followed by a faster one.  On this day Davidson did not have his best race but he never gave up and fought his way to a 9th place finish in 9:22.14.  This earned him All-State honors.

On a day in which he did not feel great, Davidson proved why he is one of the top runners in Illinois.   His toughness and determination got him his 2nd All-State medal as he earned one earlier in the year after taking 14th at the IHSA 3A State Cross Country Meet.   He will have two more races this season (The Midwest Distance Classic 3200 meter and the New Balance Outdoor Nationals 5,000 meter).  As his HPHS running career nears the finish line, we are all so grateful for Brett’s dedication to the program.   He has set the standard for commitment and toughness.  He will bring those traits to Boston University where he will continue his running career.
