Highland Park High School took 3rd place as a team at the CSL North Frosh Indoor Invite.

The freshmen team was small in numbers, but gave a mighty effort. Eduardo Monk led the way as he won both the 50 Yard Low Hurdles (7.8) and 50 Yard High Hurdles (8.3). He also took 2nd in the Triple Jump (31’10.5”). Ryan Rosenfeld also was an event winner with a come from behind victory in the 800 Meter Run in 2:23.1. He then came back to run a strong 1600 Meter Run for 3rd place in 5:21.5. Charlie Kleinman had his best throw in the Shot Put with a 32’3.5” for 2nd place. Max Kaplan placed in both hurdle races with a 3rd in the high hurdles (8.9) and 4th in the low hurdles (8.4). Liam Diethrich took 4th in the Long Jump (15’8.75”) in the first time he competed in the event. He also took 6th in the 50 Yard Dash (6.3). Pano Drosos took 4th in the Pole Vault (8’0”) and 5th in the High Jump (4’2”). This was his first time doing High Jump.

If the 2017 freshmen continue making a commitment to being the best athletes and people they can be then the future for the HPHS program is in good hands. This group of young men has the potential to do great things with hard work and a passion for success.
