Frosh-Soph Finish 3rd at CSL North Championship Meet

Friday, May 16 2014 - CSL North Outdoor Track and Field

The Highland Park Frosh-Soph finished in 3rd place with 68.5 points. Second place went to a really good Niles North (138) team and an extremely tough Glenbrook North (225) team took first. The meet results show that the young Giants must improve in many areas to compete with GBN and NN. With a great deal of hard work and commitment they can do just that.

Below are some of the highlight performances:

In the 3200 Meter Run and 1600 Meter Run HP distance runners Brett Davidson and Jonathan Rosenfeld went head to head with some of the talented GBN distance runners. Davidson was able to take 1st in the 3200 (10:08.4) with Rosenfeld getting 3rd (10:26.49). GBN took 2nd and 4th. In the 1600, Davidson tried to go with the GBN duo, but fell off pace after the 800. He took 3rd in 4:50.39 while Rosenfeld had his usual strong finish to take 4th in 4:50.73.

The Shot Put had Sheridan Clayborne taking 2nd place with a 39'6” throw.

In the High Jump, Jessie Redd was 2nd with a clearance of 5'4”.

HP got 3rd and 4th in the 400 Meter Dash. Max Zavell ran 55.24 while Jon Hrach finished in 56.52.

Josh Drummond ran his personal best in the 800 Meter Run (2:14.61) to take 4th place.
