Glenbrook South Track & Field Meet

Monday, March 12 2018 - Glenbrook South Meet w/Conant, GBN, and HP


The Giants traveled to Glenbrook South for another early season meet. The team continued to show improvement in many areas.

 

The Pole Vault was one of the events that the team shined in. Junior Ben Kirsch led the way with a 12’0” clearance. Senior Ben Zavell soared over a personal best of 11’6”. Sophomore Pano Drosos competed in his second meet of the season and cleared 9’6”. Three freshmen competed for the first time in the Pole Vault and cleared 7’0” (Simon Auerbach, David Sarowitz, and Kyle Slavin). Freshmen Andrew Kerpel also cleared 6’0”.

 

The 4X160 Meter Relay had a strong race. The team ran 1:19.4 (seniors Michael Menaker, Andrew Derdena, Sedric Gonzalez, and freshmen Zion Griffin).

 

Senior Alec Glazier moved down to the 800 Meter Run and ran a solid 2:13.2.

 

Freshmen Erik Anderson ran a personal best in the 1600 with a 5:06.9.

 

The shot putters were led by senior Zach Auerbach with a 43’5” throw. Junior Will Pfeffer threw a personal best of 35’10”. Freshmen Chris Lee continues to improve each meet with another strong performance throwing 31’4”. Junior Jacob Bradford also threw a personal best with a 30’2” toss. Sophomore Sam Klasky had a big personal best of 27’8”. Also, Sarowitz threw his best at 25’7.5”.

 

Freshmen Zion Griffin jumped his bests in the Long Jump and Triple Jump with an 18’2” in the LJ and 37’.75” in the TJ.

 

Senior Nate Amster improved on his 3200 Meter Run time from Antioch with a 10:06.5.

 

Junior Joseph Beaudet ran well in the 55 Meter High Hurdles as he improved to 8.7.  He also ran 8.3 in 55 Meter Low Hurdles.

 

The team has much more improvement to come this season. Great things to continue for the Giants!
