Track Event Start: 5:00 PM
Competing Teams: Deerfield, Highland Park, Maine East, Maine West, Niles North, & Vernon Hills
Facility & Team Camps:
The Maine East High School track is 6 lanes all the way around. Pole Vault is held on the North end of the track. The long and triple jump will take place on the North end of the track. We have two pits, so we’ll go with the wind. The shot put ring is located in the Southwest end of the stadium and discus located at Southeast end of the stadium. Bathrooms will be available under the main bleachers on the West side of the track. Feel free to use the bleachers or the fields directly west of the stadium to set up your team camps.
Weigh-ins:
Weigh-ins for throwing implements will take place near the ticket booth at the entrance to the stadium.
Coaches Meeting:
There will be a meeting for all head coaches and officials in the infield at 4:15 the day of the meet.
Awards:
There will be awards for 1st– 6th for individuals and 1st– 5th for relays. The Conference Championship plaque will be awarded to the winning team.
Trainer:
The Maine East athletic trainer will be on site and available for medical help throughout the meet.
Bullpen:
Bullpen will be located on the southern part of the infield near the high jump runway. Athletes should check in with the clerk of the course and get a number before going to the starting line. All athletes should be checked in before the 3rd call for the event.
Weather:
Should the lightning detection system sound its alarm, all athletes should immediately go to their busses. The coaches will gather to decide if we wait out the weather or reschedule the meet.
Spectators:
Spectators are welcome but they must be masked, remain socially distanced, and not attend if they are displaying any covid symptoms.
Schedule: We will follow the timetable below and not run ahead.
