Grayslake - Grayslake , IL -- Grayslake Central Track







We will have 2 buses to the meet. One bus will leave at 2pm. The other at 3:45pm.

Admission: $5.00 for adults

$3.00 for children and students (children age 5 and under are free)

$2.00 for senior citizens

 

Facilities: The track is an eight-lane all-weather track. Flat or ¼” spikes only. Shot put and discus areas are concrete, so rubber-soled shoes only may be worn. Bean bags, chalk, or half tennis balls may be used to mark for relays and jumping events. The pole vault pit is at the North end of the track. The high jump is located on the South end of the track. The long and triple jump pits are located behind the home bleachers running West and one pit running East. The shot put rings are behind the home bleachers and the discus rings are to the West of the track between the baseball and softball fields.

 

Locker Rooms: Changing facilities are not available. Please have athletes dress at your school prior to arrival. 

 

Concessions: Concessions will be available.

 

Games Committee: The committee was drawn at random and will be Grayslake Central, Grant, Vernon Hills, Round Lake, and Highland Park.

Teams: Antioch, Barrington, Deerfield, Grant, Grayslake Central, Grayslake North, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, 

Lakes, Libertyville, Mundelein Carmel, Mundelein, North Chicago, Round Lake, Stevenson, Vernon Hills, Warren, 

Wauconda, Waukegan

 

Athletic Trainer: There will be 2 athletic trainers on-site for the entire meet.  Water, ice, and ice bags will be provided.

 

Team Tents: Teams are not allowed to use the infield as their team area.  Due to limited space, it will be on a first come first serve basis.  

 

Scoring: Six places:  10-8-6-4-2-1.  Medals will be given to the top 6 places along with a team championship plaque.  Awards and results will be given at the end of the meet and can be picked up in the press box.  FAT will be used.

 

Arrival Time: Teams may arrive between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm or after 3:30 pm.  Please do not arrive between 3:00 and 3:30 due to the traffic during school dismissal.

 

Buses: Bus Drop Off: Buses MUST drop off athletes on the south end of the building on School St. by the Tennis Courts (image below). DO NOT enter or park in the Tennis Court Parking lot. Due to our dismissal time, adding extra traffic in our main lot will cause problems for everyone! If your bus is staying, it MUST park in the municipal parking lot across Hillside from the main lot. (The $2 fee will not be charged for parking)

 

Emergency: In the event of severe weather, please enter the building and head to the Field House immediately.

 

Bull Pen: We will set up a bullpen on the south end of the infield. Athletes in running events will report to this area

upon being called. 

Schedule of Events:

3:00 p.m. Scratches will be made at the timing tent located at the south end of the track. Implements and pole vault will be weighed near Door 21, which is on the north end of the track by the flag pole.

 

3:30 p.m. Coaches Meeting (At the start-finish line)

4:00 p.m. High Jump 2 flights, top flight first, 5 Alive, Starting Height TBA

Pole Vault 2 flights, top flight first, 5 Alive, Starting Height TBA

Long Jump 2 flights, cafeteria style within flight, 45 min time limit, finals follow prelims

Triple Jump 2 flights, cafeteria style within flight, 45 min time limit, finals follow prelims

Discus                   3 Flights (Top flight last) finals immediately follow                      

Shotput                 3 Flights (Top flight last) finals immediately follow

(bottom flight of shot begins when the top flight of discus begins.) 

 

*Nine competitors advance to the finals in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus
