Hanig Finishes 5th At Hornet-Red Devil Invitational

The highlight for the Giants at the Hornet-Red Devil Invitational was the strong 5th place finish by senior Jonah Hanig in the varsity 3 mile race.   He finished with a time of 15:24.48 behind 4 very strong runners.   The team finished in 6th place.   Other varsity medalists included senior Emmett Smith (19th, 15:55.83), junior Angel Estrada (21st, 15:59.13), and sophomore Ben Casey (39th, 16:22.95).   The team hopes to bounce back with a better performance in Peoria on September 8th.

The sophomores finished 9th led by Kevin Merkel (40th, 17:57.3 - 3 mile) and the freshmen finished 14th led by Brett Davidson (55th, 12:26.93 - 2 mile).
