Sunday, June 13 2010 - Midwest Distance Gala - Jonah Hanig

Freshmen Jonah Hanig runs 4:46.42 for a true mile at the Midwest Distance Gala!!!!
Jonah ran a very tough race and it looks like his time will be converted to 4:44.76 just short of the Highland Park High School boys Freshmen 1600 meter record of 4:44.5.
What a great freshmen year for Jonah!
We look forward to seeing where hard work will take him over his next three years at HP!

ari and i watched it live online. it was pretty cool. when you do the conversion i think you should convert it out of FAT first because the record was hand timed. so 4:46.42 becomes a 4:46.18 which converts to a 4:44.52.

Yes, it was an exciting race! If you were to do a conversion to hand time it would be 4:44.52. We have not converted all of the FAT times to hand times on the records. Most of them have been left with the FAT time. I believe the 1600 record was a hand timed full mile and was converted to 4:44.5.
