HP Alum Running The Chicago Marathon For Rock For Reading

Sunday, September 12 2010

Former Highland Park track & field team co-captain and coach Dillon Gilhooley (HP Class of 1992) will be running this year's Chicago Marathon for Rock for Reading. Rock For Reading battles illiteracy and inspires readership. Its core mission is to motivate and empower people to enrich their lives through reading.

Dillon is offering the incentive that if an individual dosteeplewebs $30 or over, he will write a word of the donor's choice on himself and run the race that way. He anticipates being covered with words on race day. He would love it if Highland Park team members and alumni got excited about having something of theirs parading the streets: maybe it's a goal time they have, maybe it's a nickname, etc.
