Jason Polydoris, Corey Fairchild, and Max Kaplan Earn All-Conference at CSL Invite

Thursday, June 20 2019 - CSL North Outdoor Track and Field

The Giants had three varsity athletes earn All-Conference recognition at the 2019 CSL North Outdoor Championships.

Sophomore Jason Polydoris was the only event winner for HP as he won the 3200 Meter Run in 9:52.42. He also came back and took 3rd in the 1600 Meter Run with a 4:38.14.

Junior Corey Fairchild had his best race of the season in the 3200 Meter Run. It was a tough battle against 2 runners from Deerfield and one from Maine East. After getting cut-off and bumped twice by one of the Deerfield runners, Fairchild passed with confidence and had a monster kick in the final 300 meters to pull away and take second place. He ran a personal best 9:55.41 to complete the 1-2 finish for the Giants!

In the 110 Meter High Hurdles junior Max Kaplan had a strong race to take 2nd place in 17.66!

The success of these three HP athletes is a testament to their incredible commitment to the program and for the tremendous amount of hard work they put in to their craft. The coaching staff is confident that the team will have many more All-Conference athletes next year with a young and dedicated group of athletes returning.

Two other varsity highlights of the meet included:

The 4X400 Meter Relay took 3rd place with their best time of the season running a 3:38.37. The team included junior Max Marmitt :56.4, seniors Jakob French :52.0, James Wagenblast :55.4, and Jordy Mazza :54.4.

Senior Ben Kirsch was 3rd in the Pole Vault clearing 12’8” (which was the same height cleared by the top two finishers).

The team has a great deal of work to do from now until the CSL Invite next year. The question is which athletes will make the neccessary commitment to be great? Who will be the unselfish leaders that will step up and lead by example while holding their teammates accountable? There are many Giants capable of helping this team compete for a CSL Championship, but they will need to prove that they want it!
