Highland Park Finishes 3rd at Lake County Invite
Wednesday, August 31 2011 - Lake County Cross Country InviteThe Highland Park High School Boys Cross Country Team got off to a solid start this season at the Art Campbell Lake County Cross Country Invite. The race was run at Lakewood Forest Preserve hosted by Round Lake. Highland Park (95) finished in 3rd place behind runner up Grayslake Central (82) and champion Barrington (55).
The team was led by juniors Emmett Smith (5th 16:21.73) and Jonah Hanig (7th 16:27.88, despite taking a wrong turn). Senior Ari Feldman was the next runner in for HP to earn a medal in 13th place (16:50.05). Junior Luke Nudelman ran well in his first high school cross country race running 17:08.9 for 21st place. Senior Marc Brenner rounded out HP's top 5 running 18:20.93 for 50th place.
