Kriozere Has Record Day At Lake County Invite

Monday, May 18 2015 - Lake County Track & Field

The Lake County Invite was scheduled for Friday, May 8th. Due to severe weather the meet was postponed until the following day.

Junior Ryan Kriozere had a great meet! In the 110 Meter High Hurdles took 3rd in 14.71. This is the 2nd fastest time in HP history behind only his own school record. In the 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles Kriozere had an outstanding finish to take 3rd in a new school record of 39.46. To finish off his day, he anchored the 4X400 Relay in a 51.1 split.

Freshmen Damian Campos ran the 800 Meter Run in a new HPHS Freshmen Record time of 2:04.9.  The old record was 2:05.5 set back in 1964!

Senior Eddie Smoliak took 1st in the Pole Vault with a 14'6” clearance.

In the 3200 Meter Run junior Brett Davidson took the lead as the rest of the field did not want to help with the pacing duties in the wind. Davidson wanted to run a fast time so he was willing to push the pace in front and led through 6.5 laps. He was able to finish in 5th place with a personal best time of 9:29.58.

The team continues to have several strong individual performances in every meet, but still needs more to be able to have more success as a team.
