Andrew Sledd Ties School and Fieldhouse Records in the 50 Meter Dash

Wednesday, February 22 2012 - Highland Park vs. New Trier

The Highland Park team had a good home meet against New Trier narrowly winning both the frosh soph and varsity levels.

The meet was highlighted by junior Andrew Sledd in the 50 meter dash.  Andrew ran 5.9 to tie both the field house record and school record in the event.   This was an outstanding early season run for Andrew.

Highland Park had some strong marks in the field events.   Senior John Bricker cleared 6’4” in the high jump to qualify for the Indoor Prep Top Times Meet.   This clearance places him among the top high jumpers ever at Highland Park High School.   Only one other jumper has cleared higher indoors and that was state qualifier David  Pell (2003) at 6’6”.   Senior Alex Heymann was just one inch away from making the All-Time Highland Park Top 10 in the triple jump.   He jumped 42’5.5” in the event.

Highland Park next competes at the Maine East Invite on March 3rd.
