Despite Subpar Performance Varsity Team Wins Red Division At Pat Savage Invite

Sunday, October 3 2010 - Niles West Pat Savage Invite

It was a very windy day at the Niles West Pat Savage Cross Country Invite, but the goal of the varsity team was to get out fast in the first 400 and then race their positions from there.   Unfortusteeplewebly, that is not what happened.  The entire team got out too slow.   Most of the team was able to move through the race fairly well, but it was not the type of team performance we were looking for.   The team has very high standards this year and they know they must run better!   Despite the off race for the team, they still came in first place in the Red Division and third place overall behind St. Ignatius and Niles North.  Top 25 Highland Park medalists for the Red Division included Quinn McAleer 23rd, Jordan Atkins 21st, Ian Jacobs 18th, Emmett Smith 17th, Jonah Hanig 12th, and Ari Rothschild 1st.
