David Berk Vaults To New School Record

At the Deerfield Duel Meet, Highland Park senior David Berk won first place in the pole vault.  He cleared 14'7" to break the indoor school record of 14'6" set back in 1974.   
Despite Berk's record, the Highland Park varsity team lost a hard fought battle with Deerfield.
Other first place finishes were earned by senior Ari Rothschild in the 800 and 1600 (2:09.6, 4:42.9), junior John Bricker in the high jump (5'10"), Senior Cole Stern in the long jump (21'1.25"), and Sophomore Andrew Sledd in the 50 meter dash (6.1).

On the Frosh-Soph Level, Deerfield and Highland Park tied.
First place finishers for HP included Michael Graham (triple jump 34'5.5", 50 meter high hurdles 8.2, and 50 meter low hurdles 8.0), Octavius Jackson (shot put 33'7"), Daniel Blumberg (high jump 5'4"), Alec Deer (pole vault 8'6"), Angel Estrada (800 meter 2:17.3), and Ethan Tannenbaum (400 meter 1:04.8).
