Three Medalists At Illinois Top Times Meet

Wednesday, April 1 2015 - Illinois Top Times

Highland Park High School had three athletes competing at the 2015 Illinois Indoor Top Times Meet.

After finishing in 9th place last year at this meet and missing a medal by one place, senior Eddie Smoliak was able to get a medal this year. He cleared each height on his first attempt through 14'6”. He once again switched to his new pole and had some solid attempts at 15'0”, but couldn't clear it. Smoliak ended up in 3rd place at 14'6”.

Junior Ryan Kriozere had a sloppy start in the prelims of the 60 Meter Hurdles, but was still able to make it to the finals running an 8.54. The finals also saw Kriozere not running his best race as he hit some hurdles and finished in 8th place at 8.76.

Junior Brett Davidson ran a solid race in the 3200 Meter Run to take 8th place in a time of 9:42.24. He had a great first mile (4:44), but fell off pace in the second mile. His time puts him 9th on the HP Indoor All-Time Top 10 List. He is the only junior on that top 10 list for the 3200.

Look for more great things from these three athletes as we move into the outdoor season. They are each focused on working hard to get to the State Meet and perform well in Charleston.
