Varsity Finishes 2nd and Frosh Soph 3rd at the Twilight Invite

Monday, April 25 2011 - Highland Park Twilight Invite


The 2011 Twilight Invite was once again a very competitive invite on a windy day.  The Highland Park varsity team finished 2nd and the frosh soph finished in 3rd.  

Winners on the varsity level included senior David Berk in the pole vault.  He vaulted 14'1", which is a new Twilight Meet record as well as the Wolters Field Track record.  Sophomore Andrew Sledd won the 100 meter dash in 11.6.
Second place finishers included senior Ari Rothschild in the 3200 (9:37.5) and the 1600 (4:36.0).   Senior Cole Stern in the long jump (20'11"),  junior John Bricker in the high jump (5'10"), and senior Devontae Jackson (49'11") in the shot put.  Highland Park also had two second place relays, the 4X800 of junior Marc Brenner, senior Brad Mills, senior Mark Gelber, and senior Michael Bernstein (8:36.9) as well as the 4X400 of junior Alex Kasemir, Marc Brenner, junior steepleweb Echt, and Michael Bernstein (3:33.3). 

On the frosh soph level Highland Park's top finishers were in the 3200 meter run with sophomore Emmett Smith (10:18.0) and freshmen Angel Estrada (10:33.9) taking 1st and 2nd.   Also, sophomore Luke Nudelman placed 2nd in the 800 meter run (2:14.1).
